Mini-Nutsche Benchtop Filter Dryer Has Agitator to Ensure Smooth Drying

When I have oatmeal for breakfast I expect it to be lump-free, just like I expect the lumps in a filter cake to be smoothed out so that it can dry evenly, with no sign of cracks.

While I have my own strategy with the oatmeal, fortunately Pope Scientific has an agitator for their Benchtop Nutsche Filter Dryers to address the challenges of drying a filter cake.

The agitator can slowly be lowered to churn the filter cake in one direction and break up any lumps.  Afterwards, it can be raised and dropped down again with the motion reversed so that it re-smooths the surface of the cake.  This process can be repeated as often as necessary to dry the filter cake to the required specifications.

The Mini-Nutsche Benchtop Filter Dryer is available in diameters of 2", 3", 4" and 6" and accommodate volumes from 0.2 to 5 Liters.  It can filter, wash, reslurry, and dry high purity chemicals and pharmaceutical intermediates, ensuring minimal contamination and exposure.

It's design allows easy withdrawal of the filter cake with its removable bottom head and filter support assembly.  Drying can be aided by vacuum and heating capability, and it can also be pressured to assist in solvent removal.

Other features include:

  • May be ASME certified for full vacuum to 200 psi. -80 to 250ºC.
  • Offered with stainless steel, Hastelloy, or alternate metals; pharmaceutical grade mechanical and electropolish finishes; Teflon or alternate coatings
  • Wide range of filter micron sizes, in polypropylene, stainless steel, and other materials
