B&K Precision has refreshed its capacitance meter line with updated models 830C and 890C. The 830C measures capacitance up to 200mF and includes an A/C adaptor, while the 890C measures up to 50 mF. Features updated on both models include standard mini USB and cable, improved ergonomic design, upgraded LCD and backlight, and protective screen visor. Models 830C and 890C are competitively priced at $289, and $149, respectively.

The 830C is an 11,000-count handheld capacitance meter that measures capacitance up to 200 mF. Straightforward to operate, this meter can make measurements quickly and simplify the capacitance sorting process.

Unlike other handheld instruments such as LCR meters that make measurements using an AC signal with a specific test frequency, the 830C measures capacitance by applying a constant current that briefly charges, then discharges the connected capacitor.
