High Temperature Rotary Tubular FurnaceThis is a high temperature rotary tubular furnace. As compared to the traditional tubular furnace, the main features of this furnace are that the ceramic tube can slope to 15°and can rotate on its axis at between 0 and 25 revolutions per minute. The raw materials (powder or small pellets) are fed in through the sample hopper, and the rotation and the slope of the tube cause the materials to gradually move downhill to the other end of the tube. The tube temperature is controlled by the temperature in the furnace chamber, which is as high as 1600 ºC. As materials move through the high temperature zone, it is heated up and reactions take place. Different gases, if necessary can be introduced into the tube through either end.
