The Quadro® Sifter - For More Efficient Delumping of Pharmaceutical Sugars

Sugar is used as an excipient in pharmaceutical applications to improve palatability of medications. With global sourcing of ingredients, the risk of foreign contaminants and product lumping due to heat and moisture has increased, threatening downstream equipment and final product. Traditionally, large vibratory sifters have been used to capture potential impurities, but prove cumbersome when trying to fit under existing bulk bag unloading equipment and can sometimes impart unwanted size reduction.

To meet the needs of today’s lean manufacturing practices, Quadro introduced the Quadro ® Sifter. The Quadro ® Sifter offers a compact, in-line, high-capacity, vibration-free solution for today’s efficiency-minded ingredient manufacturers. The Quadro ® Sifter’s compact design easily fits in-line with existing bulk bag unloaders. As the Sifter is a vibration-free technology, it easily interfaces with upstream and downstream equipment using triclamp connections, for a dust-free environment.
