Toshiba Unveils the Aquilion Premium CT SystemToshiba America Medical Systems Inc has launched the Aquilion premium CT system that has the capability to cover up to 8 cm in a single rotation and is field-upgradeable to an Aquilion ONE. The premium system rounds out the company’s CT portfolio and because it is field-upgradeable to an Aquilion ONE, it enables a facility to have access to advanced technology today, while assisting in the planning of future needs. “As part of our continued commitment to providing the right technology mix for the medical community, our customers have asked for a system that allows them to easily upgrade to the Aquilion ONE,” said Doug Ryan, senior director, CT business unit. “Just as we developed upgrade paths with our Aquilion 8-detector row and 32-detector row products, we are providing the same consumer focused capability with the Aquilion premium product.” Introduced in November 2007, Toshiba's Aquilion ONE, a dynamic volume CT, utilizes 320 ultra-high resolution detector rows to image an entire organ in a single gantry rotation and shows dynamic function like blood flow. Toshiba’s Aquilion CT product line has received numerous awards including the number one ranking in CT for six consecutive years from MD Buyline. The line has also received Best in KLAS and Frost & Sullivan awards.
