Digital VantagePlus LED captures detailed retinal images and video

The new Digital VantagePlus LED indirect ophthalmoscope from Keeler is the world’s first wireless indirect ophthalmoscope able to produce digital images. The instrument delivers true digital imaging, capturing video and sharp still pictures, with the convenience and mobility of wireless technology.

The new Digital VantagePlus LED indirect ophthalmoscope retains all the original features of Keeler’s popular VantagePlus LED, with the addition of an integrated digital camera to capture video and still images. Images are accessed using the intuitive Keeler software via a USB interface and are compatible with other video packages capable of receiving video input from a USB source.

The software outputs images as seen through the VantagePlus binocular indirect in various digital formats, making it an ideal tool for teaching residents and colleagues. In addition, it can be used in tele-medicine, as a means of explaining diagnoses to patients and as a method of documentation.

The LED light of the Digital VantagePlus LED indirect ophthalmoscope improves image clarity with brighter, whiter light, and delivers a long service life. It uses an intelligent optical system that automatically changes the optics and mirrors when the aperture is adjusted, providing a 3D stereoscopic view of the retina.
