Markes International, established in 1997 by Alun Cole and Elizabeth Woolfenden, is a specialist manufacturer of analytical instrumentation for trace organic analysis. It is renowned as a world leader for technical innovation in thermal desorption instrumentation & time-of-flight mass spectrometry for gas chromatography. In January 2013 Markes became part of the Mulheim-based German family business Schauenburg International Group.
