Shiseido developed a groundbreaking polymer-coated packing material from the novel idea of coating the surface of silica with a silicon polymer. To reach this breakthrough, we applied our powder surface treatment technology, one of the technologies developed in the course of our cosmetics business. We have been marketing this product since 1987. As the many technologies around us advance at breathtaking speed, researchers have been demanding more sensitivity, more precision, and more speed on their research tools. Shiseido embarked on the development of NANOSPACE, a semi-microcolumn HPLC system, to meet these demands from our customers. This system delivers the full performance of our superior CAPCELL PAK columns, which contain our innovative polymer-coated packing materials. We launched the first NANOSPACE model in 1993 and the line has continued to evolve to this day.
