Maintains donor platelets in an even suspension throughout blood plasma. The wire basket rotates with gentle end-over-end motion at a fixed speed of three RPMs regardless of load (optimum conditions for agitating plasma to minimize cell trauma and prevent clumping).Special wireform basket holds from one to 40 standard 300-mL transfer packs. Basket is divided into eight compartments that accommodate five transfer packs each. A coiled-wire holding spring is fed through the loops in pack bottoms to hold them securely and prevent undesirable movement. Basket can be removed for thorough cleaning in hot soapy water.Top quality drive motor features permanently lubricated porous bronze bearings, steel and Delrin* gears for long life and cool, quiet operation. Synchronous gear, permanent-magnet inductor design maintains constant speed and torque.Heavy-gauge sheet metal is finished in tough, baked-acrylic enamel to withstand hard, daily use. Stable, low profile base prevents tip-over accidents. Fixed rotation speed: 3 ±0.5rpm.
