Screw Conveyor
Screw conveyors are mechanical systems used to transport bulk materials from one place to another. They consist of a rotating helical screw blade, known as a "flighting," that moves material along a tube or trough. The flighting is housed within a cylindrical trough, and material is moved as the screw rotates. The direction of the screw rotation, as well as the pitch and diameter of the flighting, determine the speed and flow rate of material being conveyed.
Screw conveyors are used in a wide range of industries, including agriculture, food processing, chemical, and waste management. They are particularly useful for handling materials that are difficult to transport using other types of conveyors, such as powders, grains, and small or irregularly shaped materials. Screw conveyors can be designed to operate horizontally, vertically, or at any angle in between, making them versatile and adaptable to a variety of applications.
