The Shimadzu UV-2450/2550 are UV-VIS spectrophotometers introduced in 1995. The 2550 is a double-monochromator instrument, while the 2450 is a single-monochromator version of the 2550. The 2550 is optimized for ultra-low stray light in particular, able to detect less than 0.0003% of light as opposed to the 2450's 0.015% stray light detection floor.
These spectrophotometers' setting wavelength range is 190-1100nm, while their measurement wavelength range is 190-900nm (up to 1100nm with a special detector). Their wavelength accuracy and repeatability are +/-0.3nm with automatic wavelength correction and +/-0.1nm, respectively.
This spectrophotometer is designed for high performance and easy operation, making it suitable for the determination of trace amounts. It is also compatible with the UVprobe software, which provides powerful functions.
