The advent of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) liquid biopsy approaches are changing the game of cancer research and detection. In theory, patient cell-free DNA shed into blood can be analyzed for the presence of cancer, and details may be elucidated regarding the type, site of origin, and even stage of progression.
In the research realm, few technologies exist to interrogate large sample cohorts to identify actionable results from liquid biopsy samples. Existing systems have limitations in target detection, sample throughput, and accuracy and precision among other deficiencies.
The QX600 Droplet Digital PCR System from Bio-Rad is an advanced solution to these challenges, enabling six-color multiplexed analysis for absolute quantification of nucleic acids in ctDNA samples. The system provides clear discrimination of multiple targets using assays that are cross-compatible with the previous Bio-Rad QX200 ddPCR system. It offers sensitive and precise results, providing superior confidence in ctDNA detection results.
